Mick certainly knows his onions. Had a reaction to a chemical on a natural stone patio. Although it was an unusual one he got to the bottom of the problem. He did a few test patches with a few different chemicals and after a week or so he picked the best course of action based on the results. Mick did a brilliant job. We'd decided not to completely refit our bathroom for financial reasons and having the tiles, grouting and silicone restored was part of our amended scheme. We had quite a few holes in the tiles where we'd removed rails, soap dishes etc. from the wall and Mick was able to fill these so well that it was very hard to see where the holes had been and will not be seen by anyone who doesn't know where they were. Mick was totally professional and gave us excellent advice regarding our quarry tiled floor. He observed the problem of efflorescence was considerable and required further investigation. We will be arranging for an expert ‘damp’ consultant to survey the affected floor and walls so that appropriate remedial works can be completed by a qualified contractor. We may not be able to ‘save’ the quarry tiled floor however to be ‘damp’ free is more important for our health and the structural fabric of our home.

I had three tile restoration quotes before I met with Mick and as soon as I met him, I knew he was the tradesman for my job. His customer service was top-notch. In fact, it was second to none right from the start and stayed at that high level through completion.
I am so pleased with the job that Mick has done. He was able to transform a space that had been neglected since it was built in 1937. The quarry tiles in our hall were a mixture of old tiles some of which had probably been replaced over the years. However after cleaning and sealing they looked beautiful with a lovely sheen and the grouting ended up with a consistent charcoal colour. Mick made an excellent job of correcting my bad grouting and the damage I did to the surface of my sandstone patio. After spending a lot of time and money laying the patio I was not happy with the finished appearance. I tried lots of different products to repair the damage and to make the grouting look better without success. Mick Conlon certainly gave our forecourt a new lease of life. After a misapplication of the wrong type of sealer (Not by any approved Tile Doctor, I hasten to add) the black limestone slabs were ver patchy and streaky, ranging from light grey to dark grey across the all area, not a pretty sight. Luckily, after a couple of fraught weeks of research, we came across some videos of Tile Doctors work on line and within 48hrs, Mick Conlon based in East Sussex came all the way over to Broadstairs, Kent to survey what could be done. It came as a relieve to us to find out that the previous disaster could be made good. Quite simply, the finished job is better than anything we could have hoped for, it is fair to say that it looks far better than when it was first laid. A mishap on a customer's house left me requiring expertise to remedy a tiled porch floor which had a lot of scuffs and scratches. Mick came to give us advice for our new limestone paving, that had been damaged by a landscaper stupidly using brick acid to "clean" the paving. What a nightmare, the landscaper ruined many of our new paving s. . .
abs, they basically looked bleached and scrubbed! Mick offered a couple of options, the first being to test an off cut with Tile Doctor Stone cleaner...if we like it, try a damaged one. We followed his advice, this looked ok, not perfect but better than getting the landscaper to lift and replace, we did two coats and its so much better. This saved us stress and money. Mick did offer to clean the pavers but we tried this option first. Thank you Mick for everything. I will highly recommend you. Prefessional, helpful and you know your stuff!

Mick transformed our tired terracotta kitchen tiles, which had been fitted 20 years ago and had been neglected pretty much by us ever since, into their former glory. We are so pleased and he gave us invaluable advice on how to keep their new lustre. First class and excellent professional work. Mick did brilliantly well, even when it became clear that there were many hidden problems with our shower, and he left it all looking brand new, and solved all our eakage problems, in one go. I can not recommend Mick enough! The quality of his work and the attention to detail he has resulted in a beautifully restored Victorian pathway. The results far exceeded our expectations. Mick kept us up to date at every stage of the job. Mick takes pride in his work and that was very important to us because we specifically chose to restore a beautiful but broken pathway. It would have been cheaper to rip up and put some modern tiles down BUT we didn’t want to do that and Mick understood the importance of this to us.

I'm so pleased with the results of Mick's work on my tiled front path - he's revived it to a former glory I didn't think possible. We are delighted with the appearance of the restored quarry tile floor, which was finished today. As it was, the previous owner had put multiple layers of varnish over it and, we think, over dirt that had ente ed the porous surface of the tiles. All this is gone and the original colour restored. The floor has been coated with a polymer film and we are hoping that this will last very many years. Mick has paid great attention to detail and has really gone the extra mile with work on the floor that we would reasonably have expected not to be included. We're very happy to recommend him.

Extremely impressed with the service Mick provided. From the outset he was very professional explaining all the processes involved in cleaning our vestibule tiles. As it was a small job he was able to fit it in quickly & even came on a Sunday in order to fit around our timescales as we were going away. The tiles were very dirty & had paint marks on them but Mick managed to clean them so they look sparkling new again (despite them being over 100 years old!) Great job, would definately recommend.

Mick contacted us very quickly after our initial contact with the Tile Doctor. He was able to visit us in South Essex the next day to see our minute porch measuring 5 feet by 3 feet. He worked for over 2 hours to restore the tiles to as new condition. Brilliant work considering they were in a poor condition. He was also very helpful with advice for future maintenance. An excellent service from last year's Tile Doctor of the Year 2016. A thoroughly deserved title!

The project was fiddly, including Edwardian entrance tiles as well as damaged floor grout over an extensive area of ceramic tiles in multiple rooms. The end result is exceptional. Met Mick by co incidence when he was working at another job. Our shower cubicle was badly affected by mould which had got under the sealant, around the shower fittings and the grouting was I discoloured, rendering it unusable as the sealant was allowing water ingress. Mick charges £60 ph. and the job took 5hrs, Money well spent our 15 year old shower cubicle now looks like new. Friendly professional service, Mick has lots of experience with all sorts of tile refurbishment and I recommend him.

Mick was very pleasant and hardworking. He obviously has a passion for his work and takes a pride in what he does.
Mick made a point of talking me through each stage of the process and explaining exactly what was happening. My floor is over 100 years old and has been treated badly in the past and after the treatment the colour has come back to the tiles and I can now feel proud of how it looks rather than ashamed. It has made the hallway look a real feature of the house:-)
I would definitely recommend Mick to anyone who is considering restoring their floor. It isn't a cheap process, however, we have had someone previously work on our floor who was much cheaper with disastrous consequences so if you want it done properly its best to use someone who really knows what they're talking about.

The results far exceeded anything we had imagined. It looks like a brand new floor for a very reasonable price. As the floor in question is in a slightly dark basement kitchen we went for a gloss finish and the increase in natural light is remarkable. Great work very professionally and efficiently completed.
