I am so impressed with Charles’ work. My terracotta tiles were looking absolutely awful before Charles came and now they are stunning. Every time I walk into my house they make me very happy. My terracotta kitchen floor tiles (which had been laid decades ago) were in such a bad state I thought I was going to have to screed over them and put a whole new flooring down. A friend recommended the Tile Doctor and after sending Charles a short video of the situation he assured me they could transform them - and that's what happened! We had a new terracotta floor laid but the company who laid it left the tiles covered in grout. They are very porous tiles and grout was in every single crevice. The looked dull, dirty and lifeless. After several conversations with Charles, who couldn't have been more helpful, Stewart came to the rescue and completely transformed them. He paid a total of 4 visits over consecutive days to clean them, reseal them and then wax them to the desired finish. He worked so hard, was so courteous, kind and extremely knowledgeable. We had an awful problem with our terracotta floor which I am pleased to say was finally solved by Charles from Tile Doctor. Another firm had recommended the traditional treatment of two coats of linseed oil followed by wax to restore the surface. The first coat was fine but the second coat refused to dry, leaving a sticky surface which did not change for six weeks so we couldn't move into our new home. We tried everything to clean it off but it was incredibly resistant. We were in despair until we called in cheerful Charles who was confident they could sort it out. It took a determined effort over several days (it was a large area) but we have ended up with a beautiful, glowing terracotta floor. Many, many thanks.

We had a new limestone floor installed in a large and difficult area but the result was not satisfactory in that there was too much "lippage" from stone to stone in many parts of the floor. All the advice we eceived was that it would not be feasible to mill the floor level and that we would either have to live with it or lift and replace it - a terrible prospect. However, Charles persuaded us that it could be done and his team managed to mill it and polish it such that it now looks superb. The process was relatively quick and very clean. The team was thorough, professional and a pleasure to have around. We are delighted with the result and would recommend them strongly for any similar work

He was very friendly and professional and there was zero pressure to use him or his services. He showed me photos from another similar job so I knew what to expect, measured up and took me through the process. As I was happy with everything I asked to proceed and I was contacted the next day to arrange for a convenient time to do a trial patch test to make sure we were happy with the results. The trial looked good so we decided to proceed and the tiles were cleaned of the old sealant that day. Charles then returned the following working day to put on the new sealant and finally we have our tiles back. I wish we'd gone straight to tile doctor from the start and saved ourselves a year of hard work, expense and issues.

Our black limestone floor has been down for 8 years, despite being laid well we were wrongly advised to leave it unsealed after laying as the tiler didn't think it was necessary. It became very scuffed and mar. . .

I've even decided to contact the company I purchased them from to tell them and show them the photographs. Work was carried out within 48 hours of initial enquiry as we were in a hurry. Although our old quarry tiles turned out to have concrete rather than conventional grouping, meaning they did not come up as clean as we had hoped, the operative did a great job of removing the surplus mix solidified around the edges of many of the old tiles so that the floor looked much better overall and especially once the polish and final cleaning process was completed. We were really pleased and impressed by the care and trouble taken to do the best job possible.

Charles and his team are always very courteous and polite and are all very hard working. Our lacquered wood flooring was looking scratched and one area had been particularly badly worn by bar stools. Now however, after having been sanded down and oiled, the whole floor looks amazing, far better than when it was first laid. We have an old Victorian path which has received no 'tender loving care' for many years and has been subjected to the rigours of a major 3-years renovation of our house. The path took a real battering but Cha les has very professionally restored and it is now close to its former glory. A great job, very many thanks.

We have a Travetine floor throughout the whole ground floor and has been down for almost 7 years. Looked very tired and some small holes and cracks and very dull. The guys did an exceptional job carried out v ry efficiently, clean, tidy, zero mess and the floor looks better than originally laid. The minor cracks now simply look like veins in the tiles and all the holes filled with resin and blend in nicely. Will use again in a couple of years to keep in good order from now on. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough

I was happy with the service, but the floor did not come up as good as I thought it would. all the cracks that were made good came back within a few days .friends did not notice the floor had been professiona ly cleaned. I wish Charles had come to see it after it had been done.

We are very pleased with the result that Stewart has managed to achieve on our previously rather worn and marked terracotta tiled hallway on which previous glazes had deteriorated. Charles and Stewart were very courteous and helpful. We still think for the quite small area covered, however, it was relatively expensive, hence the 'probably' answer to the final query above.

Charles did an excellent job on a very tired terracotta floor, and worked cleanly and efficiently. However, we have not had any feedback on how to maintain the tiles in a good condition especially in this very wet weather we are currently experiencing.it is only through this page did I learn of the Neutral floor cleaner, and look forward to obtaining some.

Charles saved the day! My husband decided to seal my floor and it was a terrible job. I was very upset as I thought our floor was ruined. I saw Charles a few years ago and at that time we decided not to proceed. When I saw the state of my floor, I thought of Charles straight away. I called him, he came round and reassured me that it will be sorted. They did an amazing job. My life has become so much easier. I am not spending hours and hours scrubing my floors and my husband is out of the doghouse!!!!

Charles did not tell operative that Travertine holes needed filling & operative didn't ask or use his own iniative to fill the holes. Then when I came back at the end to check the work he had to fill the holes after he had finished buffing, so not the best finish. Also the filling isn't flush - it has shrunk with drying. Also there are white marks on our new tarmac driveway from spillage.
Apart from the above comments, we are pleased with the results.

What an amazing Service, Charles came out to quote and explained the process showing me examples and videos, within a week he came out to do the work. I could not believe the results. The tiles came up like brand new even removing oil that had absorbed into the tile. Charles even came back late on the Saturday to apply another coat of gloss finish. The service and work carried out was 10/10. I will be passing on the details to my parents to have their tiles cleaned. Thanks Charles & Team!

We were very impressed that Charles fitted us in quickly and the work done has really improved our terracotta tiled balcony which was covered in grout residue. Despite using every chemical from specialist grout removers (As recommended by the grout manufacturers), to paint stripper, brick acid and scouring cream, (Recommended on online forums), we had been unable to shift ourselves. I was very pleased with the cleaning of my ceramic tile floor as great care was taken to ensure that the best possible job was done. The grouting on the floor proved to be difficult and I was impressed that both the cleaners felt that it was not of a satisfactory standard and needed further attention. An appointment was made for a return visit, a stronger substance used and a satisfactory result achieved.

I have hated this type of floor for years having had the same for fourteen years in our last house. I googled for hours to see if there was a solution. Dogs cats and humans were making it worse and worse, washing it was a nightmare. Eureka! The answer to a maidens prayer in the form of Charles! The floor is transformed after his tireless ministrations. The room looks twice the size and twice as light. We are Charles addicted and he is coming back for phase two, terracotta tiles in the conservatory and yet more limestone in the Loo! Long live King Charles

Charles visited and his enthusiastic sales pitch made it impossible to refuse! He agreed to fix it to arrive within a week. The work carried out was done quickly and with a lot less mess than I expected, Stuart worked from when he got here at 9.45am to when he left at 6p.m. with hardly a break. After moving into our home 4 months ago, the stone floor was extremely dirty!!! We were Very impressed with how clean our floor came up!!! The guy said he had never used so much cleaner on a floor before!! It looked good but I wasn't sure how clean it actually was. After two days I decided to clean the floor with my steam mop. After cleaning our very large kitchen floor I was amazed that the cloth on the steam mop was still white!!! There was no dirt so the tile doctor was fantastic!! Excellent friendly and helpful service and I would highly recommend them.

Very efficient & quick service less than 2 weeks from our initial phone call to our floor being cleaned. We have travertine tiles and there was an issue with small holes which trap the dirt but Charles was very efficient and returned a week later to deal with the holes. The final result was superb - clean enough to eat your dinner off!

Three firms were contacted for this work (honing & waterproofing 2 Travertine tables). Tile Doctor provided the most professional response (to time) and gave the most competitive price. The company also agreed a reduced price to recognise this small piece of work being fitted in around other operations.
Stuart, who did the work on 11th September, was very conscientious & helpgully provided advice on future care of the tables.
I have delayed providing this feedback for a month to see how the finish settles down - & I am still delighted.

Charles was very helpful when I asked what services could he provide, given the areas of 3 different sorts of tiles which I was concerned about.
The operators have worked very hard and conscientiously.
I was slightly unhappy about the final outcome of the Terracotta tiles, so they were happy to reapply another coat of polish to solve that problem.
It is an expensive service but as long as it wears well, then it will all be worth it.

It would be helpful to receive information regarding onward care of tile grout, re-sealing, products and so on. In our case the tiles are non glazed stone and the grout is mainly mortar.
