He's very professional but down to earth at the same time so was easy to talk to regarding all requirements.     Tom was extremely helpful in restoring our slate bathroom tiles to their former glory. They were badly stained from grout cloud and also hard water deposits and he cleaned and applied colour enhancer. They loo as good as new. It was a big job - 4 bathrooms and a downstairs loo but Tom was not phased. He cleaned up after himself and even came back to touch up the odd area that hadn’t taken as well. Very professional. Would definitely use him again and have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

    Tom always replied quickly to emails. He followed Covid measures well, and even quoted us 'virtually' using photos, then turned up on time and put protective sheeting down while working in our bathroom. He ta ked me through the process and what to expect the outcome should be. He asked before doing extra things. The end result was our bathroom, which has fully tiled walls, now looks like new. He cleaned the tiles and grouting, redid some grouting where needed, new sealant etc - really pleased with the end result. Polite and tidy too. Would definitely recommend.

    Shower grouting has been given a new lease of life and looks like new. Amazed at how effective the re-grouting has been. There was nothing wrong with my tiles but the shower looked tired due to water damage/staining to the grouting. I had been thinking of spending thousands on new tiles but The Tile Doctor restored their original sparkle. Tom, even managed to match the exact grout colour so it didn't look out of line with the existing grout on the tiles that didn't need re-doing. Excellent service, prompt and polite.     From Tom's first visit we were impressed by his helpful, friendly and professional advice. Tom was obliging in fitting in the work needed with our existing build and even managed to source some extra terracott tiles as closer match as the existing, needed to complete the work. Tom started work on the date promised and laid the extra tiles that were missing and then cleaned and resealed the entire floor.     Tom was punctual on both the day he quoted and on the day he arrived to undertake the work. He was also very mindful of our semi house cats and made sure he did not let them out. That sounds simple but of the many tradesmen we have had around in the last six months for restorative work on the house he was one of a couple that did not need constant reminding. The work he undertook was to rectify, as he put it, "some of the worst damage to tiles I have seen to date"! The tiles were limestone and had been badly marked by an acid based cleaner. By the end of five solid hours work he had got the tiles back to looking brand new with not a mark to be seen. He did so with no mess, a very cheerful disposition and several cups of coffee! I would not hesitate to recommend Tom to all my own clients and friends.

    Tom cleaned our old tile floor which proved to be far more difficult than expected. There was a black stain which he could not identify and which was far more resistant to cleaning than the rest of the loor. Tom wouldn't give up and tried a range of methods even though he had to finally admit defeat. The rest of the floor is excellent and the black mark considerably smaller and less apparent than originally. On top of his amazing efforts he gave us a discount as he couldn't get the floor as clean as he had wished.

    It was a tricky job with absorbent encaustic tiles that should never have been put in a kitchen in the first place. Tom was professional throughout. Replaced damaged tiles, deep cleaned the rest and resealed w th a sealant that will hopefully prevent deep staining again.

    Tom did excellent work on quite a tricky job. Our kitchen tiles are over sixty years old. Tom took up and disposed of our old kitchen Lino, removed the layers of concrete screed, then buffed, glossed and seale the original tiles until they shone like new! The natural salts worked their way to the surface of the tiles just like Tom said would happen, and a fortnight later Tom returned to re-surface and re-gloss the tiles. The floor now looks great. Tom was very professional throughout and the work was no easy job to accomplish, so he has done a great job. We are very pleased with our kitchen floor, which now has a new lease of life. I would recommend the Tile Doctor if you need a floor restored at any time.

    Our tiles were very damaged after a long term water leak and Mick did an excellent job in difficult circumstances to repair and enhance the tiles. What surprised us was just how much labour it takes and how m ch heavy duty kit is necessary to get a good finish.     We had our kitchen tiles cleaned as over the years dirt had gathered in the grouting and in the uneven surface. Also a previous replacement of some tiles had left residue on the surrounding surface. Good as new!

    Still can't quite believe Mick and his colleague turned up 5 minutes early. Wasn't expecting that from a tradesman on a Saturday morning. Excellent job. Our travertine floor is actually more shiny now than when it was first put down 3 years ago. We had a very 'faulty' tile which you can now barely notice and they filled in a whole in one tile which we hadn't even mentioned to them. Top job. Have already been recommending them to my friends.

He made a site visit the same day of first contacting him, took time to explain the processes required to clean our old brick floor and priced the work the same visit.     The work was carried out very well, on time and in a very professional and polite manner. But I was slightly surprised that there were no solutions at all offered for a problem that only revealed itself after the (terrcotta) tiles were cleaned: there is one batch that was put in later. The grout is of a different colour - I was warned about that and that's ok. But the tiles that were put in later are of a slightly different colour, a bit lighter, and that's okay, too. But one if them does stick out like a sore thumb because it's all light yellow and it's in a prominent place (in front of the fridge), so the option of putting something on it does not exist. My point is: a firm like 'Tile Doctor' which advertises solutions to problems for tiled floors does not seem to be able to deal with this sort of problem (which must be quite common). This is in no way a criticism of Mick Conlon at all (which is why I clicked 'excellent').

    The cleaning of our terazzo floor did not go as planned. Once cleaned, Mr Conlon had to recolour some of the areas to try amd match the finish. The end product was a surface which was had clearly been cleaned but at the end of the day did not look a lot lighter or more polished than that which we had at the start. Mr Conlon was however helpful and professional at all times ansd respoded extremetly quickly to the initial call. He came and cleaned a copule of small sample areas to demonstrate the finish we would achieve. These two areas came up very well.The work was undertaken on a weekend and within our requested timescales. It might have helped if we had been told at the outset that a decent finish might not be achievable.

    I saw several companies to quote for my floors; one saying they couldn’t do much for my quarry tile floor, but from initial contact Mick was professional and honest, giving me a realistic expectation on results. In fact the results far exceeded my hopes and the well used ceramic floor hasn’t been this clean since it was new. Mick worked very efficiently and with minimal disruption, which was very important.     As Mick promised he made the floor look newly-laid. We had forgotten how colourful the slate actually is under all the layers of old polish and dirt that had built up over a 15 year period. Having tried to clean it ourselves we realise how much work was involved and how difficult it must have been to get the level of finish he achieved. Absolutely amazing - looks like a completely new floor. If we could buy the sealant/polish he applied to treat any future scratches and scrapes that would be great so please let us know if this is possible.     The appointment was actually made on the day Mick visited to do the estimate. The likely finished product was described as well as the process. On the day he arrived with hos workmate within the quoted timescale and telephoned 30 minutes before they arrived to confirm that they were on the way. A lot of effort went into the preparation and work went ahead according to the given schedule; additional tasks were also performed, grouting,moving furniture. Results are first class, thank you?

    Work carried out on 4th and 5th December 2013. The original laying and cleaning/sealing of travertine flooring was a dull mess and nothing was going to make it perfect again. However after Mick's visit the flooring was 100% better than it was and he managed to create a flooring worth looking at. Friends and relatives who had seen the original flooring remarked upon the difference straight away. Mick worked tirelessly to achieve this over two days.

I cannot praise Mick enough for the work he carried out on my floor. The floor had been neglected over many, many years and I was at a loss as to what could be done. Mick came and surveyed the floor and advised me on the best service available that was within my budget (a rental property so limited budget). He was fantastic, it is very rare these days to come across a workman who takes such pride in his work. I know for a fact that he spent much longer on my job than should have been the case and did not charge me any more than the original quote. The aftercare has also been superb, Mick followed up to check that I was happy with the outcome and to advise on looking after my floor going forward.
