Granite - Cleaning and Sealing
General Granite is becoming the material of choice for today's homes and offices, synthetic materials are simply no match for granite's natural beauty and classic elegance. Granite is available in a wide variety of colors and can be shaped into straight or curved patterns to match virtually any requirement including beautiful kitchens, vanities and bath areas.
Granite Stone Maintenance
Granite/Marble Worktops
To maintain Lustre and Patina on glossy Granite or Marble worktops use the Stone Patina Spray. Recommended for use on all polished stone countertops, tabletops, and non-traffic surfaces.
Rough/Riven Granite Tiles
Most sealers break down after 2-3 years (depending on usage) and will need to be re-applied. To remove any excess sealer before cleaning use Tile Doctor Remove & Go Sealer remover.
Use Tile Doctor Pro-Clean Tile & Grout cleaner to effectively clean tiles, highly effective against Wax Sealers, Grease, Grime and general dirt build up. Neutralise the floor with clean water, mop up and leave to dry for 30 minutes or more.
Apply Tile Doctor Ultra-Seal premium sealer using a clean dry terry cloth (not the fluffy variety). Rub Sealant into the tile. Allow to dry before applying a second coat. Use a water test to achieve full cure sealability (F.C.S.).
For regular cleaning use a sealer friendly cleaning product such as Neutral Tile Cleaner which has been especially formulated for the regular cleaning of Sealed Stone and Tile surfaces keeping them fresh with a pleasant mint scent.
Tile Doctor recommends Burnishing Pads, use with a buffing machine to bring out the shine on a polished stone floor.

Sarah Lancashire	Just had some granite tiles laid and whlst moving the fridge, one of the tiles has been scratched and a mark has been left. Any ideas on how best to restore the tile?
*Tile Doctor*	Hi Sarah, We don't provide this service but there is a German based company called 'A.R.T. StoneLux', their web site is www.stonelux.com, who sell a portable kit that can repair chips in stone. If you contact them they should be able to suggest someone in your area who can repair your floor for you.

Toby Edinburgh	I accidently used a heavy duty cleaner on a slate top in our bathroom and it has left it very badly marked. We have tried vanish remover in order to take the seal off and reapplied a new seal, but the marks are still there. Is there anything else we can try to get rid of the marks.
*Tile Doctor*	Hi Toby, Sounds like the slate is highly polished, if that was the case then you have to be very careful what products you have used as the only way to get the polish back and get rid of the marks is to regrind it and re-polish it, which would have to be done by a professional. You should be able to find one in your local yellow pages under marble and granite polishing.
